Enter the divided world of the Border Reivers
The Border Reivers lived amid shifting allegiances, family ties, raids and difficult systems of border law. Our Border Reiver tours help you understand how conflict and survival shaped their lives across the English-Scottish border. We draw on research into the Reivers, the Armstrongs and the wider region, giving your group more than a surface commentary between stops. From Langholm, we connect the landscape, defensive places and historic communities with the people who used them. The result is a focused private experience for history enthusiasts and descendants of Reiver families.
Follow the family, episode or question that matters
Reiver history becomes clearer when the route has a strong thread. Your itinerary can concentrate on a surname, a particular episode or themes such as kinship, raiding and authority. We discuss what you already know and the questions you hope to answer before arranging a realistic sequence of visits. With no unrelated guests in the vehicle, you can spend longer on a complex subject or ask for more context as it arises. We also set the pace around your available time, group needs and chosen pickup point, keeping the historical focus sharp rather than overcrowding the day.
